Hi John,

I also tried "Initialze" with MaximDL 4.51 and Pinpoint. After the successful Initialze I noticed that the PA = N/A.

From the help file I was under the impression that a "Initialze" sets the PA?

Any ideas? Maybe Pinpoint didn't report the PA?

Cheers,
Brad Moore

Hi John,

I've just tried MaximDL again. After the Initalize the Init. PA = Not Initalized.

Brad,

PinPoint has worked very nicely in all my tests so I am pretty sure it is reporting PA for you. Your Maxim profile looks correct, except it appears the rotator calibration was not performed. What is the version of TCC software you are using? 1.5.17 is required - see Software Requirements in the help system.

Brad,

Upon further examination, I noticed you selected Guide Scope for guiding? Is that what you use in your system?

RCOS 12.5, SBIG 2000XM (Self Guiding), No IR. (Expecting one from Brad @ RCOS in a few weeks)

Refer to this thread

Does this still apply to CCDAP3?

In the mean time it states in the help file:

"No Rotator In Use

In this case, all controls associated with a rotator are disabled and the title box will so indicate. Additional information is provided if the system has been Initialized."

Refer to attached image from the CCDAP3 help file.

I get "No Rotator In Use and Init. PA = Not Initalized" Why don’t I get a PA reported?

BTW: I'm in the southern hemisphere.

Cheers,
Brad

Brad,

No, version 3 has a totally different structure than version 2. You should select self-guided and initialize at that point.

Hi John,

The PA angle was reported as soon as I added a target.

I've also changed the guider options as suggested.

Thank you for your assistance.

Thanks,
Brad Moore
