Poor Seeing

Hallo

My mount was connected with the Generic LX200 ASCOM driver.
With MaximDL it well functions.
Now I´m testing CCDAP and have a problem.
After starting the session with "run session" comes the following error message:
"ASCOM telescope reportes it can not unpark. Run aborted."

Is it possible CCDAutoPilot, nevertheless, to use?

Thanks,
Chris

Hi Chris,

This sounds like a problem with the ASCOM driver. I am not an ASCOM expert but I would think any driver should be able to unpark. You may want to check on the ASCOM list to see if you have the latest driver and what the unpark status is.

If indeed your driver can not unpark, then you should not choose park but instead use the tracking off feature of CCDAP to stop telescope motion while waiting for other events.

Hi Chris,

If you don't use any park options, you shouldn't get any subsequent unpark functions.

Hi John

I have deactivated all options I have found.
On the Targets Tab - Options the following fields were deactivated:
"Tracking Off While Waiting" and "Park While Waiting"
In the Options-Tab are all fields deactivatet.

Is anywhere another field which I have overlooked?

Thanks.

Chris

Hi Chris,

See the Options page and don't choose any park options as well.

Hi John

I have done two screen photos of my settings.

Should it be in this way OK?

Thanks.

But it don´t works.
There comes always the same message:"ASCOM telescope reportes it can not unpark. Run aborted."

Is it a bug?

Hi Chris,

At the start of a run, the telescope may have been parked so CCDAP unparks the scope. (Otherwise, the telescope could be tracking anywhere. While waiting for a run to start, the usual and safest thing is to park the scope.)

I have no familiarity with an LX200. Does the mount park, i.e. go to a predefined position and stop tracking? Does the LX200 have any kind of "idle" condition? If so, what is it? (Any LX200/CCDAP users, feel free to jump in here with how you use CCDAP.)

The best place to determine whether the driver should support unpark is the ASCOM Yahoo group. Try asking there. Bob Denny is one of the founders of ASCOM and appears to be the author of the driver.
