Hi John:
I stated in an earlier thread, I had to use the reset tool to get the Status Window to open in an unminimized state. I now have new issues. I am unable to get version 3.3.05 to slew to a the first focus star at the beginning of a run. What happens is that it moves the focuser position prior to taking the first sync exposure. So I decided to remove version 3.3.05 from the add/remove programs in the control panel and return to version 3.24.3. I then reinitialised the guider. When I attempted to use this program I got an unhandled exception error when attempted in begin an imaging run. What suggestions do you have for me? Don |

Hi Don,
When you removed and reinstalled CCDAP3, did you use the "CCDAP3 Registry Reset.exe" program. This cleans the registry and should help you go backwards in version numbers. But, why not load CCDAP3 ver 3.30.5 and then run the registry clean program and then load all your data in and do a fresh initialize. After that if the focus doesn't perform as expected, attach your log file so it can be analyzed for something that may be causing the issue. I am using 3.30.5 and if it wasn't for my Boltwood II shutting down the program, due to clouds :-)) I would be imaging with it now. Post the log so we can have a look. |

Frank:
I used the CCDAutoPilot Reset Tool on 3.30.5 to get the status window to open. It is after this reset that I began to have the issue with the first focus being skipped. I began to review set-up and then I got the same problem again of the Status window opening in a minimized state. So I said the heck with this, I'll just unistall CCDAP from the control panel and reinstall version 3.24.3. Now when I tried to execute start a run I got an Unhandled Exception error and the program aborted. Don |

Don,
What you are seeing is most unusual. Do you have any registry monitoring programs running? When you see this kind of behavior, check task manager to see if you have mutiple instances of any application running. See the troubleshooting topic in the help file under "When things don't go as expected" John CCDAutoPilot author |

Don,
Please post the log file for the run that didn't do the first focus properly. Thanks. John CCDAutoPilot author |

John:
No registry monitoring program running. I went back uninstalled everything and then reinstalled version 3.24.3. Then I allowed the program to update. Then I used the reset tool. All now appears to function normally. Thank you again for your help. Don |

Don,
Good news - thanks for the feedback. The first round of testing on 3.30.6, which should fix the CCDSoft guide exposure issue, went well last night. Assuming all goes well tonight, I'll make it available for web update tomorrow. John CCDAutoPilot author |
