Hello,

I am having trouble with Maxdome II locking up during my image session. Everything will work for a while then something happens where the ASCOM dome control will lockup. I have to use the task manager to close the ASCOM dome controller then re-open it. I think the problem is how all the software is being connected. The connections for
AP3 and the ASCOM Dome Controller are listed below. All the software is of the latest version. I’m thinking the telescope commands from AP3 needs to be sent to the ASCOM Dome Controller then pass on to The Sky6 and then to the Paramount ME. Could somebody tell me how I should set all this up so every body will play nice together. <G>

Or maybe I should be using Software Bisque’s AutoDome?????

Camera- Maxim,
Telescope- TheSky6, (Paramount ME)
Plate Solving- PinPoint
Focuser- FocusMax
Rotator- RCOS PIR
Dome- ASCOM (Dome Control and HUB)

MaxDome II Connections:
Dome- Maxdome II
Scope- TheSky-controlled Telescope (set for The Sky6)

Hi Troy,

Please attach a log.

I don't have enough familiarity with MAxdomeII to comment on this issue. I do know that there is a very tight connection between TheSky6 and Automadome that seems to work well.

Hi John,

I have attached a log file from the other night. I don’t remember at what time the dome controller crashed. I think it was sometime after midnight.

Can anybody comment on how well Automadome works with Maxdom II?

Thanks for the help

John,
Have you had a chance to look at the log file?

Hi Troy,

I did but don't have any answers for you Frowner

The first problem indication is at 21:27:17, where the telescope connection was lost for some reason. (CCDAP does not disconnect the telescope during a meridian flip.) Once that connection is lost, all bets are off going forward. That error comes from the POTH, which is outside of CCDAP. I can't help with troubleshooting that issue.
