I'm running Maxim DL along with CCDAP latest version.
When a session commenses its not unsual for my guider set up (Orion ST 80 and Starfish, to a Tak EM-200) to take 20 seconds to settle in to a small error rate. However CCDAP starts imaging WAAY before this has happened. Is there a delay setting I can use to avoid live imaging during the settling time? John |

Hi,
Go to CCDAP3's Tracking and Guiding tab and setup your "Max. error" parameter and "Max. error cycles" parameter. CCDAP3 will only start guiding when the Max. error parameter has been reached or is smaller than the setting. It will try for the number of cycles you setup. If the number of cycles is reached before the max error is satisfied, CCDAP3 will reposition the mount and start the guiding cycle over again. HTH ... |

Thanks Frank. I'll have a look.
I was also thinking about starting the series with a short Lum image of say 30 seconds, which would be a "throw away" to allow the guiding to settle. John |

That really shouldn't be necessary with CCDAP3. If your mount has a hard time settling, you can also add a Guider Exposure Delay on the Light Frames tab. This will give the mount some extra time before the exposure starts as well.

Thanks. Good to know I've got several options to work with.
