Hi,
I am a relatively new CCDAP3 user....I love the program!! I found initially that I could not get any decent guiding with CCDAP, but all was OK with CCDSoft directly.....I then noticed that I had still left the CCDSoft dither plugin active, so I thought that was it....It probably was not helping, but even with de-activating the plugin....still CCDAP could not find a guide star or guide ....I then noticed that I had done an initial calibration with CCDSoft just prior to initializing with CCDAP, using a subframe exposure on the guider chip to get one bright star on the chip, rather than two bright stars.....when I initialized CCCAP, the sub frame exposure setting was still active on the guider...Duh!!....After re-doing the Initialize with the subframe exposure box in CCDSoft unchecked, all is now going well....This probably should have been an obvious thing not to do, but there is a lot to learn with a powerful new program such as this!! Thanks, Tim This message has been edited. Last edited by: Tim-Jewel Box Observatory, |

Hi Tim!
Hopefully you realize that the "Initialize" function in CCDAP3 only has to be run once, not every session, unless you make a change in your equipment configuration. Steve... CCDNavigator Author |
