I initialized again with SelfGuideR and I did a short run with two light frames. The guider was doing fine on the first light frame, red filter. The guider stopped for the second light frame, blue filter. CCDAP issued a command to start the guider and it wouldn't start. I saw Error code = 1006 (0x3ee). in the log for the run. I have attached the log file.

Kirk,

The guider did not restart when told. Try restarting CCDSoft. CCDSoft is having a problem with the SBIG driver. Make sure you are using the latest SBIG drivers by using the SBIG DriverChecker, available from the SBIG site. If that doesn't resolve the issue, try rebooting.

I ran the drive checker and it said all of my drivers are up to date. I have the latest version of CCDSoft .188. I rebooted the computer and I still get the same error code + 1006(0x3ee). The guider isn't starting back up.

I rotated the camera with CCDAP for this run and the guiding was good for the first frame while it worked, so my initialization with SelfGuideR worked fine.

Hi Kirk,

As a suggestion, scan your hard drive for all occurences of the SBIG drivers. If you happen to have an old driver in the CCDSoft program folder, it will not be replaced by the SBIGDriverChecker, and when the program runs, it can find and use that old version. Both Maxim and CCDSoft have put the drivers in their own folders in the past, so if you have been using CCDSoft for a long time on your computer, it's possible that there might be drivers left over in your CCDSoft folder. I had that issue some time back and just deleted every SBIG driver I could find off my hard drive and then ran the latest SBIGDriverChecker.exe program and let it put the drivers where it wanted them. Now I only have one occurence of the drivers and everything has been working fine since.

Frank,
Deleting the drivers and reloading them with the drive checker did the trick. I first deleted all of the drivers from the CCDSoft folder and the problem still occurred. I deleted all of the drivers from the SBIG folder too and the camera still worked, so I knew there were other copies somewhere. I searched and deleted all of the sbig drivers on the drive checker list and then the replaced them. I was able to have my first sucessful test run tonight. The meridian flip will be next.

Thanks for the help.
