John,

Making slow progress. Last night I got ccdap to do a meridian flip with one problem. It seems that the tracking gets turned off while the mount waits for the meridian flip, but after the meridian flip the tracking never gets turned back on, so "wrong tracking state" messages are in the log. When I went to the ascom panel, the track box was unchecked. Are you aware of this?

I'll send you the log if that's helpful, but the observatory computer is turned off and I can't get to it right now.

Thanks,

Pete

Hi Pete,

If you entered a negative value for Meridian Tracking, then all that happens is the mount is instructed to slew 1 hour to the east. Tracking is not touched, at least by CCDAP. I haven't a clue as to why tracking goes off. Could this be a Gemini idiosyncrasy?

John,

I thought you might like to look at the log. Note at 00:12:08 ccdap reports that tracking was turned off. Are you sure that you don't issue a call to turn tracking off?

If you don't, would it be possible to issue a command to turn the tracking back on right before (or after) the meridian flip slew?

I did a meridian flip last night and after the waiting slew, I rechecked the track checkbox in the ascom control panel. After that, everything worked fine.

I did manage to get a complete run in last night (without a meridian flip), so once we get this issue resolved, I'll be a happy buyer.

Hi Pete,

Thanks for the log - there was a bug Red Face

If you use Update Now to update CCDAutoPilot, tracking off won't occur.

Sorry about that!
