I have been running a proDome, with Automadome, CCDSoft and TheSky6 for several months with basically no problems. Just the troublesome, and random, error 1600 (640) with plate solves, also shown at the end of the log snippet.

I got this error last night…
Dome align to telescope failed
21:28:03 TheSky6.Document: A required initialization file was not found. Go to Camera, Setup, and press the Settings button to choose the correct file.

What file should I be looking for? Also the suggested fix doesn’t make sense. I can’t find that menu path.

When I went out to check the dome, it had closed and then realigned with the scope.

Log file snippet follows…

Hi Bob,

Yes, there are some red herring error messages here. I ran into this a long time ago with a user but I was not able to recall or find any info on this. IIRC, it was an automadome issue.

Please post the entire log as an attachment and let me see what I can suggest.

Hi Bob,

Thanks for posting the log. I did some research and this issue last showed up in June, 2006. At that time, the solution was to set the dome update frequency to longer. If your slit aperture allows it, I would suggest setting to 8 minutes or higher, instead of the 5 minutes you currently have.
