John,
I have been testing the new Starfish Autoguider with the Astrodon MOAG and CCDAP3. I get consistant error most every night that "cannot start the guider". This one occured after a meridan flip. The log files have been sent to you and I understand that Fishcamp has sent an autoguider to you. For reference, here is the message from the log file. "21:46:02 I:SG1, MaxIm DL 4: Cannot Start Guider 21:46:04 I:SG2, MaxIm DL 4: Cannot Start Guider This may not be a CCAP3 problem. Just thought that I would bring it to the forum for discussion. Thanks, Dale |

CCDWare, Ltd. Orbiting around Earth |
Hi Dale,
I have been in contact with Starfish (Bob Patek) on this issue. He has said he will send me a loaner for evaluation within the next week or two at which time I will investigate and attempt to resolve the problem you are seeing. Stay tuned... John CCDAutoPilot author |

John,
I have recently installed new Starfish software "Guider_mono_rev13_intel.srec" sent by Bob at Fishcamp. I tested the Starfish w/ CCDAP3 over the last two nights with no errors or exceptions. This version of the software corrected a bug that introduced latency between the guider image download and the start of the next exposure. This may have solved the problem first reported here. Dale |

Good Seeing |
Hi Dale,
I was still seeing a problem with that firmware version with my test script here but glad to know it is working ok for you. I think Bob may be planning a little more work on it. John CCDAutoPilot author |
