Poor Seeing
Posted
Hi,

I just built a new computer to live in my observatory and reinstalled all my software. I put in the latest version of Robofocus control software and then FocusMax. I installed CCD Autopilot 3.30.5, but when I set up my Software settings on the first page of CCDAP3, there is no listing for FocusMax or Robofocus. Only @focus and @focus2 are listed as programs to control my focuser. My old laptop, which I replaced, had a listing for FocusMax.

FocusMax works when I use it to run V curves and to focus with, it just isn't listed as one of the programs to control my focuser.

Any idea how I can troubleshoot this?

Thanks,

Pat Cirullo

Pat,

Are you sure you are looking at the CCDAutoPilot3, Settings page? I have absolutely no support for @Focus in the code. In fact, the string "@Focus" does not even appear in the source code. The only focus methods are supported are FocusMax and @Focus2.

John,

At 3 AM, I swear that FocusMax wasn't on that list! But now it is. Sorry for the false alarm.

I spent the whole day getting the new hardware working, then fighting with IP addresses, setting up a VPN and getting Remote Desktop working. Then the clouds cleared for one of the only recent clear nights that I wasn't at work. SO I got busy with TPoint runs, Automapper, running V curves, etc, etc. Sometimes it is just like juggling cats (at night).

Anyway, the Settings/Software/Focuser drop-down list has FocusMax and @Focus 2 listed, just as it's supposed to.

Thanks for the great software.

Pat

Thanks, Pat. I know what you mean about working at 3 AM. Sounds like you had a busy but productive time.
