I'm having a problem and I was wondering if anybody had any suggestions.

I was trying CCDAP with pinpoint for solving and ASCOM for scope control for my Titan (gemini) mount. Everything was working really well!

Then I brought TheSKY6 and used it for solving and scope control. In two nights I was never able to perform a meridian flip successfully.

The obvious thing to do is watch a flip when it occurs to see what happens, but it seems the flip didn't happen. For example sync images an hour meridian flip was supposed to have happened have trails suggesting the mount was no lnger tracking.

So, a few questions

1. Older topics here mention Gemini and meridian flip, but it hasn't come up for a while. Should it work properly in the current version of CCDAP?

2. Assuming the problem is the scope control, is it feasible to use TheSKY for solving and ASCOM for scope control?

3. If I do that do I lose any useful features of TheSKY?

Sorry for not just trying this stuff out, but it doesn't look like I'm going to see another clear night for several days yet!

Thanks,
Darren.

Well I was lucky enough to get a clear night to do some testing.

It turns out that my problem was relatively simple - theSKY decided it my observatory was back in Colorado, making the flips happen the wrong time!

Plate solving doesn't seem to be working reliably, but that's another issue!

Thanks,
Darren.
