Hi Jack,
There are a few things going on in this log. First a question - My 16" RCOS is a 3360mm FL scope, are you using a Powermate or Barlow on this one to push the FL out to to 4400mm? Just curious. 1. You have CCDAP3 setup to rotate with a meridian flip, but there is no rotator connected. 2. At 02:14:55 it appears that the camera may not have been powered on or connected. 3. Communication with the mount was not solid at that same time due to the tracking on failed log entry. 4. How full is your hard drive? are you storing your files on a network device possibly and was it connected and available? I would suggest that you update to the latest CCDAP3 which I believe is 3.42.5, TheSky6 which is 6.0.0.58, CCDSoft which is 5.00.188, and FocusMax which is 3.4.1. This will put all the software at the current levels where things seem to be working for me pretty well. Good luck... HTH . |

Howdy Frank Thanks for looking at our problem.

Just curious. >>>The scope is a specially made RCOS f/11.8 1. You have CCDAP3 setup to rotate with a meridian flip, but there is no rotator connected. >>> Earlier in the night we wee having a errant rotator that insisted on a 180 deg rotation from what is specified in the target (Not connected to The Sky in TCC software). Since object was past meridian a rotator disable was a quick work around. 2. At 02:14:55 it appears that the camera may not have been powered on or connected. >>>Cannot explain this although we rebooted the computer to try to cure the ills. It took the image but just would not store it. Also this behavior occured multiple times 3. Communication with the mount was not solid at that same time due to the tracking on failed log entry. >>This I do not understand 4. How full is your hard drive? are you storing your files on a network device possibly and was it connected and available? >>>Files stored on computer and not peripheral. Disk has about 80 gigs left on 149 I would suggest that you update to the latest CCDAP3 which I believe is 3.42.5, TheSky6 which is 6.0.0.58, CCDSoft which is 5.00.188, and FocusMax which is 3.4.1. HTH >>>>Yeah do need to check this but all has been well and working fine for months on end with only occasional rotator errors. Thanks again |

Jack,
This is an error that comes directly from Maxim on a simple save(filename). What was in the description field for Light Series 2? If you look at 02:!4:55, there is an SBIG driver error, which may be part of the problem. I assume you are using an SBIG camera as a guider. It may be worth updating your version of Maxim as a minimum. I also think you should keep TheSy6 and CCDAP revisions current as well. John CCDAutoPilot author |
