At least a year ago I had installed your AutoPilot v3.18 demo which expired awhile ago. Never did un-install it.
Last week, I read about the many improvements you had made to AP v3 so I manualy downloaded the software from you website and installed your latest AP v3.41.5.0 Demo. Installing v3.41.5 Demo over the older v3.18 demo appeared to go fine on my computer with XP Pro SP2. I re-booted after the installation was complete and per the help file I ran the "CCD AutoPilot3 Re-Set Feture" before first use. (Sorry didn't see the note about "Un-installing any AP version prior to v3.19" until it was to late, oops) AP v3.41.5 Demo appears to open up just fine, but when I try to use the "Update Now" feature from the help tab, it only offers a prior older version AP Ver3.40. I have decline this update so far. I could use a little advice on a remedy for the current trouble. Thank You BDK2272 |

Hi Brian,
First thing to try is the XP Restore facility to restore your PC to the point before you installed 3.41.5. In windows go to Start/Programs/Accessories/System Tools/System Restore and restore a suitable date. Once that completes, uninstall 3.18 and install 3.41.5. See if that solves it for you. John,
Thank you very much for the Swift Holiday Assitance with AutoPilot3 v3.41.5. Did the XP Pro Sp2 "Restore" to a date previous to installing AP 3.41.5, then rebooted. Removed AP v3.18 and re-booted. Looks good so far. Re-Installed AP v3.41.5 and did the "program re-set" per the install guide. Everything seems to be running fine. First time program opened I bypassed the update, then closed the program. Second time open I used the "update now" from the help tab. It found a newer program version. Now it's "replacing file version ***3.40.chm file". (Oh SH%$*#@) Big sorry for the waste of your time today! Just cought it - Oops!! Meat head here didn't catch the "replacing file name ...". I thought It said "it was updating to file version ***340.*". Grin, BrianK |

No problem, Brian. Glad you were able to get it going. System Restore is a great way to get out of a bind.
Merry Christmas! John CCDAutoPilot author |
