hello,

i have a problem with the initialization process with something new in my set up, i have bought a pyxis 2", and a new computer in my observatory(fresh installation), if you remenber my precedent problem with the initialization with the st8e// and ao7:
http://ccdware.infopop.cc/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/1141040351...341084552#8341084552

i must run the calibration with the standard st8 (not the st with ao) before the initialization procedure.

now, with the pyxis, i have tried the same thing, initialization unguided ,calibration with st8 standard, calibration of the ao7,and finally ,initialization in ccda (guided) with st and ao.
but it's not work, the guiding is off when i rotate the camera.but it is correct if i not rotate the camera and keep the same pa of the initialization.
is there an issue about the procedure?

the good news is with the new computer, focus max work perfectly,no freeze!i think it was an hardware problem.
and the second good news is with the new computer i can try ccda 60days more with my difficult set up Smiler Wink
i think you'll see me on the forum next days, lol!
thank you
regards
michael

Hi Michael,

Have you set the rotation option for your Pyxis ?

From the CCDAP3 help file :

Optec Pyxis: There are setup options. The option should be chosen in which CCW rotation results in increasing position counts or degrees. For the 2" Pyxis, this is normally the Reverse direction and for the 3" Pyxis, this is normally the default direction. See the Pyxis control software help file under PYXISparms.txt for specifics.

That would be my first thought as to what might be going on.

i think i have found the solution last night, i had selected "selfguided" in the settings, and when i have selected "selguidedR" and done a initialization, I have performed a complete run with a different pa of the initialization...
i'll confirm tonight, the weather is good.
what is the difference between them?
thank you
michael

Self-guided is intended for SBIG-like internal guiders. Other configurations require changes to the internal guide algorithms and this is the SelfGuidedR mode. It may be that using an AO7, due to its mirror reversal, requires operating in the SelfGuidedR mode.
