Hello,
initialization failed at plate solving because this message appears : "Plate solve failed. Unable to optimize image scale. Please try again". Image scale is calculated by CCDAP according to setup. PinPoint ver. 4 and Clear filter used, exp. time 5 sec in bin 2x2, Expansion tried was 0.3-0.4-0.5-0.8. USNO A2 catalog selected. The problem was present also with Visual PinPoint, that gives this text error: "886 image stars found. The image field is so big that we reached the limit of stars from the USNO A/SA catalog". Telescope/camera setup is: WO APO Megrez 90 at FL 500mm, SBIG ST10XME.
Any suggestions?

Hi Massimo,

The FOV is probably too large with that setup. If you haven't already, try taking a 1/2 or 1/4 frame exposure at 1 x 1 binning. The 1/4 frame works for me with my FSQ/STL11K. HTH ....
