Hi John,
Just updated my code to the new version a couple of days ago. It ran fine one night. The system did suffer a power outage that night. I restarted the system and all finished well. Tonight it bombed with "UNHANDLED EXCEPTION HAS OCCURRED -ARGUMENT ‘LENGTH’ MUST BE GREATER THAN ZERO". Stable system - Sky 6, Maxim, Focusmax, Pinpoint. After several unsuccessful restarts, I renamed the system profile and started fresh. Same message came up when re-initializing the system. Is this a known issue or should I re-insatll the CCDAP code? Any other suggestions? Thanks in advance. CCDAP_ERROR_12-08.doc (32 KB, 77 downloads) error msg |

Hi Bill,
It is not a known issue. First, I'd try using the CCDAutoPilot Reset tool on the program menu. See the help system under the troubleshooting topic for details. Since there was a computer issue, a reinstall may be required. If so, again use the reset tool after installation and prior to running CCDAP. John CCDAutoPilot author |

I went to the Control Panel and removed the old CCDAP. I downloaded and loaded a new copy. Same problem. It seems to come up when I am working in the target window. I did rename the old system profile in the process and created a new one. I re-initialized the system as well.
Suggestions? Thanks in advance. |

Hi Bill,
Just as a suggestion, sometimes removing a program from Control Panel, doesn't get it all. Try uninstalling CDAP3 then go to CCDAutopilot3 folder in C:\Program files\CCDWare and delete it if it is still there. Next check your C:\Documents and Folders\Your user name\My Documents\CCDWare and if there is a CCDAutopilot3 folder, delete it. Then reinstall CCDAP3 and "reset" it with the CCDAP3 Reset.exe program found in the just installed C:\Program Files\CCDWare\CCDAutoPilot3 folder. Then launch CCDAP3 let it update and see if you still have the problem. Does everything else still work OK (ie TheSKy6, etc.) since the power failure ? |

Bill,
The error message seems to indicate some problem with the Dec coordinates. What specifically are you doing in the target window? Can you provide steps to duplicate the problem? John CCDAutoPilot author |

John,
Problem solved finally. I reloaded Netframe and reset CCAP. Same error that occurred when i tried to center something in the Sky. The issue turned out to be with the target list itself. I tried another list and it worked. I recreated the problem list and that also functions fine. Something must have been an issue in the list itself. Thanks at any rate. |

Bill,
Glad you got it going. I'd love to see what was wrong with the Dec coordinate. If you still have that target list, please zip it and send to me - support (at) hiddenloft (dot) com Thanks. John CCDAutoPilot author |
