Poor Seeing |
Hello, how to make images over several days and retrieve exactly the same field in the camera, knowing that I have a field has a greater one degree and the option target from fit is not working ?
I tried recording a target, but I have a decalage of several pixels. Michel |

Excellent Seeing |
Hi Michel,
The way I do this is to save a target file. This keeps the exact RA/DEC/PA of your image, and when you load it for the next night's imaging, a precision slew to target is all you need. CCDAP3 takes the first image and plate solves and then determines how far off your pointing is based on the initial slew. It then makes that correction and you should be "on target" (within the limits of your mount). I have used this method and come back to targets a year later and CCDAP3 will put me right back on the object within a few pixels, so, it is a very accurate way to take images over several nights, or years :-))). Do you use T-Point, or some other correction software for pointing improvements? |
