When using the "Plan Only", the selection for choosing a magnitude range for focusing with SkyStar is grayed out. Is this only available when connected to the equipment or have I not selected the right option somewhere else?

Hi Larry,
Yes it is greyed out during planning mode. The intent of planning mode in V3 is target definition and light frame planning only. You need to be connected to the focuser for it to be active. John CCDAutoPilot author |

Thanks for the reply. Has the "planning" philosophy changed in V4?

Yes it has, Larry. Planning in V4 adds the ability to plan dark, bias and flat frames along with the target(s) and light frames. This allows planning a whole evening using plan mode on one PC and then transferring the target list to the observatory PC for execution.

This is a good incentive to upgrade.
