I must be missing something simple. I have no rotator in my system. I am initializing at ~282 deg PA with the scope pointing east of the Meridian. Afterwards, guiding works fine in CCDSoft and CCDAP4 for targets on the east side. When I run a session with a second target on the west side (see attached log file), the guide star shoots quickly off the guide window. If I switch to CCDSoft and check the "Reverse X" box on the Autoguiding tab, guiding works fine.
Note on log file - plate solves weren't working on target 1 due to a very bright full moon nearby and passing clouds. Plate solves did work on this same target on previous runs with PA=282.2 each time. What am I missing? Thanks, Ken Hopefully this is my last thread for a while. ccdap20091003_204750.log (17 KB, 10 downloads) |

Ken,
Your initial plate solves failed due to an insufficient number of solution stars. You need at least 10. If plate solve fails, then all bets for successful guiding are off. You need to resolve your plate solving issue first. Make sure all the reference stellar databases are active in TheSky and your detection threshold in the Source Extraction Setup is set at 1.25 or so. John CCDAutoPilot author |

Hi Michael,
As John pointed out in the previous response, without a successful Plate solve, and in your case, a successful initialization, then guiding is not going to work correctly. What issue are you seeing that are preventing the initialization from completing successfully? |

Michael,
Do you have any registry "monitoring" or blocking software installed? John CCDAutoPilot author |

No, PEMPro can not cause what you are seeing.
Make sure you start all programs before starting CCDAP and don't rely on CCDAP to launch them. Start TheSky6, then connect to the mount. Start CCDSoft then connect to the camera. Then start your focuser program if there is one and then start FocusMax. Finally, start CCDAP. If you have to shut down any underlying program, shut down CCDAP first then reverse the order above. yes,we know that,we use ccdautopilot for a long time, and we proceed always like this.
nothing change on the computer, just the update of ccda, and we have tried protrack few days ago,but we desactivate it now. maybe an automatic window update?i'll try to see. what is the procedure to reinstall the last revision of ccda and keep the system profiles? remenber if i check the "reverse x" in ccdsoft, it work on the west side. ccda normally automatically check this when the mount flip,no? thank for your help. michael |

Michael,
Uninstall 4.15.9 using control panel/add/remove programs. Install 4.15.7 using setup. Your system profiles will not be deleted. I ran 4.15.9 with my ME through a meridian flip, etc. without incident and with good guiding. Log attached FYI. John CCDAutoPilot author ccdap20091015_224747.log (37 KB, 5 downloads) log file |

hi john,
thank you, i have seen that you used maximdl... can you try with ccdsoft? because, i have just try it with 4.15.7, and it work. i can't really said that it is ccda 4.15.9 because i have done several things: add exeption in window firewall, update the sky 6 with last release 6.60 remove all automatic update in windows, software. and reinstall 4.15.7 it work on the first try. regards michael |

And attached is the log from a CCDSoft .195 run with 4.15.9. No problems.
One more thing to try is using CCDAP4 Reset and then updating to 4.15.9. John CCDAutoPilot author ccdap20091016_205032.log (33 KB, 7 downloads) log with CCDSoft |
