Hi

I have a problem with platesolve in ccdap4, I can do this with no problems in CCDap3.

"Plate solve failed, Check imagescale.
Pinpoint.Plate: The image field is so big that we reached the limit of the stars from the Guide Star Catalog"

The image platsolves fine in Maxim DL 5, Visual pinpoint and CCDap3.

Please help me
Kind regards
Jacob Bassøe

Thanks to some good info Jacob provided, I think I was finally able to get to the bottom of some international issues that was driving me crazy. Folks in other countries were having to set their Windows region to US under certain circumstances for plate solving with PinPoint. I think I have resolved the issue. The attached patch file should work in any region for PinPoint plate solving.

Replace ccdautopilot.exe in C"\Program Files\CCDWare\CCDAutoPilot4 with the one attached. You may want to back up your existing ccdautopilot.exe just in case.

If you try this, please let me know the results.

Thanks.

Hi John

It seems to do the trick!

I will test it a bit more and get back to you.

Kind regards

Hi John

The from fit button still works fine but i still can't initialize.

The good news is that i got it working on my old astrolaptop, a IBM T43 but it won't work on my new one a IBM/Lenovo T61...?!?

If you have any good advice i would be a very happy man.

Kind regards
Jacob

Hi Jacob,

I'm not sure what you're saying. Was initialization successful on the T43 but not on the T61? What OS is each running?

Try running CCDAP4 Reset from Start/Programs/CCDWare/CCDAutoPilot4.

If initialization doesn't complete, try increasing your plate solve exposure and binning.
