Good Seeing |
I'm trying to shoot some darks in the garage during the day and "Dark Frames Now" starts and ends immediately. I presume this is due to the Dawn abort feature.
On the Options screen, when I uncheck that box, I notice that it immediately re-checks itself the instant I change screens. Is this a bug or do I have some other switch configured that is doing this? Thanks, Jonathan |

Hi Jonathan,
I just tried a dark with the simulator and it worked as expected. Are you connecting to all your equipment of just the camera control software? When just connected to the camera control software, dawn abort doesn't come into play and should be grayed out. |

Hi Frank,
I do just have CCDSoft connected, but the abort check box is not grayed out. You can check and uncheck it at will. When it is unchecked, it immediately rechecks itself when I leave the Options page. I just discovered a workaround. The checkbox below the Dawn abort is the "Repark after Dawn Flats". That is normally checked. I just unchecked it and left the Options page. Again, the Dawn Abort checkbox rechecked itself, however, the Dark Frames Now is able to execute and my dark frames are running as we speak. Sounds like a condition conflict but perhaps there's a reason that John wrote it this way. I'm sure he'll make that call when he gets back. Thanks, Jonathan |

Jonathan,
If any dawn flats are selected, the abort at dawn is automatically checked. So, simply make sure no dawn flat series are enabled. John CCDAutoPilot author |
