Poor Seeing

Hi All,

Had a problem with my pempro installation.

I had it all working fine, but needed to update my ASCOM, which is where all the problems started...

I have trouble with the installation of ASCOM 5a, which simply won't install. Anyway I got the scope to connect (presumably through ASCOM 4.1, which was also resident), updates the Gemini controller and had everything connected. For some reason I thought I should use ASCOM 5, can't remember why, maybe Pempro insisted. Anyway, I have now stuffed the ASCOM installation up, so I tried rolling the computer back a few days with System restore. Reinstalled PemPro, which now won't run, I get an error everytime I try and start it up.

Help!

Cheers
Stuart

Hi Stuart,

What is the error you are receiving when you start? Can you post a screen shot?

In addition, make sure you have installed .Net Framework 2.0 and gone through Windows Update to get any patches/updates that might be available.

One other thing, when you install PEMPro/ASCOM make sure your login has administrator privileges.

Hi Ray,

All working now, except the PEC On and Off buttons are missing, as well as the indicator?

They were there before.

Should I re-install again?

Cheers

OK, now I feel like an idiot. I had mistakenly set the scope up as a Losmandy Gemini G11, rather than a Gemini Level 4. All good now, collecting data.

Cheers

Hi Ray,

Can you have a look at the data acquired and give me some hints? When the data comes in it seems shifted from one worm period to the next.

Cheers
Stuart

Hi Stuart,

Unfortunately I think your mount has the infamous 76-second fundamental based on the Frequency Spectrum of one ofyour log files (see attached figure). There's lots of info available on how to reduce this error but you cannot fix it with PEC because it doesn't repeat in phase every worm cycle (that's why you see the peaks in the graph "walking" between each cycle.

BTW, you can still use PEMPro to remove other worm fundamentals but make sure you uncheck the 3x fundamental as explained in PEMPro's help for the Gemini.
