Poor Seeing
Posted
I have been using PemPro for a year or so and never had this happen. This is the third G11 Gemini mount I have had (and used PemPro on) and was attempting to get the PE and the PEC. It acquires the data just fine - typical G11 of around 10 to 12 peak to peak PE (image scale 1.76). PemPro then generates the first analysis and it looks good - as you would expect the wave or curve pretty much showing the opposite of the data. But when I go to "create PE curve and close" the resulting final curve fits the original data and of course when it is loaded to the Gemini and run it exaggerates the PE of the mount - probably double.

Any help appreciated, Kirby Benson - Las Cruces

Hi Kirby,

It sounds like the curve is just inverted. Download the curve from the mount into PEMPro, click the Invert button and upload it back.

That's a good answer Ray. I'll give it a try.

Thanks, Kirby

Ray, all of a sudden I have the same thing happening. Never had to invert them before, has some thing changed?

I also am having a terrible time getting the curves to improve anything now on either my 900 or 1200 mounts. I am using the full version.

Last time I ran it on my 1200 it went from 1.8 down to .8 Now it does not good or even makes it worse.

Sorry not much info for you to go on.

Hmmm, I think I know why it did not work right, user error of course. I did not do all the set up calibration this time, as in the small L for axis calibration.

I would not need to this in the past as I always had the same equipment, I just changed from and SCT to a refractor. Of course it will be different.

Will try again tonight with all the set up steps Smiler
