I have been a user of Pempro for a while now. It always worked fine. Last week I was out with my scope but not able to start Pempro anaymore. It crashed even before any Pempro screen is visible. I have tried to uninstall it. Install it again but it didn't work. Tried to reinstall .net and reinstall pempro but this also doesn't work. Windows is not giving any hints why the application crashes. I hev used Pempro 2.50.63 and the dotnetfx your site is referring to.

PLEASE HELP

Hi Erwin,

When you say "crashed" that implies a message popped up with details on where execution failed. If that is happening can you do a screen capture and post whatever crash details are shown on a screen?

Also, make sure you have installed IE 5 or greater and Windows Installer 3.1 (as shown in the System requirements for .Net Framework version 2.0 - look in the link below):

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyi...E04F5&displaylang=en

Lastly, make sure you do Windows Update and select "Custom" to make sure you have all the patches for the .Net Framework.

Ray,

I have installed Windows Installer again just to be sure but the problem is still present. Windows update is already active and the latest updates have been installed (might that be the problem?) I have created some screenshots for you, which are not really guiding into any direction as far as I'm concerned. If you give me your mail address I will send them to you.

Regards,
Erwin.

Hi Erwin,

What about Internet Explorer? You need to have that installed too so make sure IE7 with all updates are applied.

Could you upload the jpegs here so that others who might run into this problem might also find it helpful? You'll have to load one at a time if you have more than one.

Thanks,

-Ray

Seems the attachement of an image didn't work. How do I post images? I don;t have the right to start a photoalbum and I don't have the images available on an URL (I have them local)

Hi Erwin,

If you upload JPegs they should be visible. Use the "Add Attachment?" link in the "Post a Reply" window.

Hi Erwin,

That error looks like it is being thrown inside the .Net Framework library. With a little googling I found out that it may be caused by a Windows call that doesn't exist (perhaps because of your foriegn version of Windows or .Net). It can also occur if there is an ActiveX control or DLL that is not installed.

Do you recall seeing any installation errors?

Hi Ray,

I'm not aware of any installation errors. What do you suggest? Removing .Net and installing Pempro and .Net again? Can you recommend a .Net link? I really would like to get PemPro up and running again.
