Poor Seeing

Hello,

I try to use PemPro with my 10Micron GM2000.
In an older post I have read that the Advanced Configuration and the Pulse Phase is very important for this setup.

To determine the Pulse Phase I measured the time between the items appeared in the table during acquiring data.
The time I have measured was 5.25 seconds.
In my setup I had an Exposure Time of 1.0 second and an Exposure Delay of 1.0 second.
So I subtracted 1.0 secont (for Exposure Delay) from my measured 5.25 seconds and set the Pulse Phase to -4250 msecs. Is this correct ?

Best regards,
Dirk

Hi Dirk,

PEMPro will calculate the midpoint time of your exposure, so you don't need to worry about that or the delay between exposures. The delta time to worry about is for camera control and image download time. Usually -500 to -1000 milliseconds should work fine.

Hi Ray,

during Acquiring Data it takes 5,25 seconds from point to point. My Exposure Time is 1 second and the selected Exposure Dalay is 1 second too. So I think my camera control and download time is much longer than 500 or 1000 milliseconds. It ist possible to measure it nearly exact within PemPro ?

Best regards,
Dirk

Dirk,

You have to calculate the time from when the image is completed until when PEMPro calculates the centroid and adds a data point. You could use a stop watch to determine the duration between when the camera control program finishes taking the image and when PEMPro pops up with a new data point.

Hello Ray,

sorry for one more question.

"camera control program finishes taking the image" means:

Exposure is finished but NOT downloaded from the camera --> starting stop watch

OR

Exposure is finished AND downloaded from the camera --> starting sop watch

Thanks and best regards,
Dirk

Hi Dirk,

You want to do this:
> Exposure is finished but NOT downloaded from the camera --> starting stop watch
