I've moved my PEMPro software from my laptop to a desktop PC in my observatory de-registering the program on my laptop and re-registering it on the desktop. The latest version of the PEMPro worked correctly on the laptop.
The Meade's Autostar Suite and DSI II programs work correctly. PEMPro boots correctly and I can connect to both the camera and the scope's mount. "StarSnap", "Calibration Wizard" and PEC sync run with no problems. However, when I go to acquire data, the program response with "All star out of brightness range..." I've tried all the available adjustments with always the same results. That's when I decided to look at the fits files that were being generated by PEMPro. I used CCDStack to examine the images. See attached. The "StarSnap" and the "Acquired" images both have hugely negative pixel values. Note that the same camera FOV from the Meade DSI program show normal pixel values. The Meade image has a background range in the 10 - 50's ADU and the center star in the 3000 to 20000 ADU range. I've tried acquire with and without dark frames with no success. Note that the dark frame also has these negative pixel values and it appears to have little or no effect on the Acquire image? Thanks, John D |

PEMPro Authority Orbiting around Earth |
Hi John,
There's no need to uninstall/reinstall. The PEMPro license allows you to install PEMPro on as many of your own PC's as you want.
Since this is a different PC some of the Meade DSI settings are probably not set correctly. Have you tried the procedure outlined in the help? In a nutshell you connect with the Meade Autostar app and to set up the DSI defaults. Then you disconnect from the Meade app and connect PEMPro and click the "Read Camera Settings" button in PEMPro's Meade DSI Settings window. The exact procedure can be found here: http://www.siriusimaging.com/H...EMProV2/meadedsi.htm Let me know if this helps or not. -Ray Author of PEMPro |

Thank you for responding so quickly. After posting yesterday I decided to force a kind of program reset by deleting the My Documents\CCDWare\PEMProV2 folder, actually I just renamed it, and then invoke the PEMPro program.
Upon coming up the program asked if I wanted to configure a mount which I did. I connected to the camera and then executed both the StarSnap and Acquire functions. I did this in the daylight hours. The acquired frame was just of the underside of the roof. Both the dark frame and acquire appear normal. The dark frame had ADUs in the 10- 50 range and the Acquire frame in the 20,000 to 30,000 range. Unfortunately, it was cloudy last night so I couldn't test it on a star but I feel confident it is going to work. John |
