Poor Seeing |
Hi, I have a weird problem. Whenever I try to download anything off the CCDWare site it causes my verizon DSL internet connection to shutoff (or power cycle my modem as the verizon techs called it) I called verizon and they are 100% sure that its not my end or their end, and its something with the CCDWare site that is causing this. Has anyone experienced anything similar? Its bizarre as this is the first time that anything I have tried to download cuts my internet connection.

I don't think there's anything CCDWare website can do to cause a DSL modem to power cycle. If this is happening on large downloads, perhaps something is wrong with the modem.
Do you have a direct ethernet wire connection from your computer to the modem or a wireless router? I've seen wireless routers get bogged down with large file transfers, especially if the signal is not strong enough (I guess that introduces a large number of errors.) In that case, you may want to try a direct, wired, connection. Have you tried to download other large files from other websites? Do these download OK? Regards, -Paul |
