I just installed CCDNavigator. At time of install, I was told I needed .Net Framework. I thought I already had it installed, but didn't bother to check. I installed .NET Framework 3.5 SP 1 and then was able to install CCDNavigator. When the program launches, it stalls on the intro window and a dialog box appears titled "Internet Explorer Script Error." It tells me an error has occurred on this page and asks me if I want to continue running scripts on this page. Hitting the "yes" or "no" buttons seems to make no difference. I have to close the dialog box(es) 49 times before it (they) finally go away and then CCDNavigator will finish launching and seems to behave normally.
In Add or Remove Programs, I discover that I have a whole series of Microsoft .Net Framework versions installed (1.1, 1.1 Hotfix, 2.0, 3.0 and 3.5 SP 1). I tried repairing ver 3.5 SP 1. No change. I removed 3.5 SP 1. No change. Any ideas? Thanks, Ken |

Ken,
CCDNavigator requires .NET 2.0. I have no clue what is going on with the 49 dialog boxes, this is some foulup in Windows. If I understand correctly, you get the initial CCDNavigator splash window and then these 49 dialog boxes. Is that what's happenning? If they are Internet Explorer messages, that's odd indeed since there is no code at all in CCDNavigator that invokes Internet Explorer. Are you running WinXP or Vista? Try repairing .NET 2.0 and reinstalling CCDNavigator, that's about the best I can offer. Steve... CCDNavigator Author |

Steve,
You are correct in your interpretation of my problem. I am running Windows XP SP3. I removed all .NET versions down to 1.1 Hotfix and then reinstalled them. No change. I discovered that the dialog box problem is not limited to CCDN. It happens with other apps, too, including the Windows User Accounts control panel. I logged out of the account I was trying to use and logged into another one. In the new account, I did not have the problem and CCDN opened normally, although in Demo mode. I didn't realize the registration process was limited to a single Windows account, or perhaps that is another symptom of the problem I was having in the original account. I will try to move everything over into the other account and get it running correctly. If I can do this, I will delete the old account and attribute my issue to some registry snafu limited to that one account. At least I hope that's the case. Thanks for your help. I will let everyone know how things turn out. Ken |

Ken,
Hopefully it is just the one account but my experience with WinXP is that you will probably find other obscure problems with all the accounts. Once the registry gets corrupted, all sorts of weird stuff will happen. Once you get it installed, just use your registration key again. It is ok to have it installed on a couple of computers but we do ask that you don't use two (or more) copies simultaneously (for example running two remote systems at the same time). And please protect the key by not distributing it to others. Any other problems, be sure to post! Best regards, Steve... CCDNavigator Author |
