Poor Seeing |
Hello Steve. I've created a camera with a guidescope. The imaging main camera and the guide scope camera each have their own FOVI in Sky 6. I believe I have successfully calibrated the FOVI. I have both FOVI turned on in in Sky 6. When I add an object to a session (and a guide star is being located), the main camera FOVI turns off and I have to manually turn it back on (the guide scope FOVI does not turn off) - is this normal? Thanks, Eddie

Eddie,
You can only have a single FOVI on. You'll need to combine the guide scope and the camera into a single FOVI much like the FOVIs for self guided cameras. Then use Choose and Calibrate FOVI to set it up. If you're not sure how to do this, let me know and I'll help you set it up. Basically, start with the FOVI for your camera and edit it in Sky6 so you can add a rectangle the right size for the guide scope. I need to put this info in the helpfile. Steve... Steve,
Thank you - I think I did it! I'm very new to Sky 6. This is what I did: 1. Created a FOVI for my guide scope. 2. Using the information (copied) from the seperate FOVI that I previously created for my image scope - I created another element (element 2)in the FOVI for my guide scope. This created one FOVI with my image and guide scope information. 3. Then I calibrated this single FOVI in CCDNavigator. Was this correct? Thanks, Eddie |

Eddie,
Right on target! Good work! I added a section on how to do this to the helpfiles. Your current model assumes the guide scope is centered on the main camera which might not be the case. You can measure the offset sometime at the telescope with the procedure in the helpfiles under EZ-Guide. Steve... CCDNavigator Author |
