I have three targets I want to plan to image (M13, IC4604 & M16). Each one is available at a different hour. I plan to image one, until the 2nd is available and then image it. And finally, begin to image the 3rd when it becomes available.

CCDNavigator won't let me build a plan to begin imaging as early as the 1st target's availability without first dropping the last two.

Is there a way to accomplish what I'm trying to do? I know I can build three separate plans but that's more work and I'd like to have the tool do it for me.

Thanks,
Jonathan

Jonathan,

Sorry, I just found your post.

I just set up a plan for M13 followed by IC4604 followed by M16. Since I'm not at your lat/long and don't know how you set your criteria, I can't be sure if I'm replicating your situation.

Depending on how you've set your criteria and the particular targets involved, you may have to be careful when adjusting the LRGB values for the 1st and 2nd targets. You must do them in order and make sure the end of the 1st overlaps the 2nd. Otherwise CCDNavigator will remove the 2nd (and 3rd) because they are not eligible if the 1st target doesn't use the time up until the 2nd is eligible to be added.

To do this, just look at each of the 3 objects before adding them to the session and note their "From" and "Until" availability times. Then set up just the 1st one and make sure the session ends some time after the 2nd one starts its availability. Then add the 2nd target and adjust its LRGB count so it gets you to the 3rd target's "From" availability time. If you want to go back and adjust an LRGB count for an earlier target, be careful not to reduce it too much so a target gets dropped.

Let me know if you are still having trouble. It does require a little care but it's no problem to do, I do it all the time.
