Larry,

Just saw your posts. For some reason, I cannot download either of the files you posted. Could you just ask your questions here in the forum?

Larry,

After some work, I was able to see your files.

Let me explain what "Ineligible" means. Targets have "From" and "Until" times displayed when it meets your criteria (by being above the Minimum Elevation criteria you have selected). This is the time when they can be imaged.

The session is populated by targets one at a time from the beginning of the session. So, if a target as a "From" time of 9 pm and the session starts at 8 pm, then that target will be marked as "Ineligible" because it cannot be imaged at 8 pm. You can see when session start and end times at the bottom of the main window.

When a target is "Ineligible" either the "From" or "Until" will be colored red which indicates why the target is ineligible. If the "From" time is colored then you are trying to add the target to the session at a time prior to it's "From" availability. If the "Until" time is colored, then you have already used up all the time when the target could be imaged so it can no longer be added to the plan.

So it is normal to have targets marked as "Ineligible" in the opening list because objects near the end of the list will not become available for imaging until late in the session. As you add targets to the plan and use up the time, more and more of the targets will become eligible for addition to the plan.

If you wish to image a particular target, like M81, you can override the starting time of the session to match the "From" time of the target. This is useful if you want to start with a particular target and don't mind wasting some time at the start of the session. Or you could image something else first and adjust the LRGBH counters so you stop imaging it shortly after the "From" time of M81.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Steve,

Several days after the post, I did figure it out. It was just so shocking that 26 targets were available on one day, and for weeks before, and on the next day none were on the list. ;-)

Thanks again for the explanation.

Hi Larry,

It just happens that way, especially if you make any change in your "Criteria" especially "Minimum Elevation" or "Minimum Availability". And as the date rolls forward, the "From" and "Until" times change as does the session start time for the session so every day you can see differences.
