Hello

I downloaded the 132 evaluation copy and tried installing it on Vista Ultimate. The install succeeded but when I ran CCDI it popped up a dialog asking me whether I wanted to purchase and I couldn't proceed.

I saw an earlier post saying it worked if you select install for everyone not just for me. So, I uninstalled and re-installed selecting everyone and this time it worked.

This is the first time I've installed CCDI so I suspect there's some sort of odd bug here.

Thank you for the report, Gavin.

It does appear that the installer is not doing the job when installed "just for me", and not just on Vista. I'll check into it.

Hopefully you can use it in the "for everyone" mode for now.

Regards,

-Paul

Hi David,

That means you are not logged in as a local administrator, or that User Access Control (UAC)feature is not turned off. You may need to enable the Administrator account and then login as that user, and uninstall and then re-install CCDI.

Here's a blog article that describes how to enable the hidden Vista Administrator account:

Enable the (Hidden) Administrator Account on Windows Vista

-Paul

Thanks Paul--I already had UAC off and have for months, but the administrator trick was the key. I had wondered about this admin account before. I have been able, somehow, to get around that with everything else I have installed over the last 10 months, until now. I have had to manually register some .vbx VB files, but everything else has worked...

Now, CCDInspector is running as unregistered. I may be slow, but do not see where I plug in my license key. Am I missing it or do I need to wait for the trial to expire?

Thanks for the trick!

Hi David,

Glad to hear you are making progress!

To enter the license key, simply start CCDInspector. When starting, you should see a screen, similar to this:

Just click on the "Enter KeyCode..." button to enter the license. Remember to include the curly braces {..} when copying/pasting the key.

Regards,

-Paul
