On Sunday, November 13, 2005, I was honored to speak at the 2005 Advanced Imaging Conference in San Jose, California. The following is a description of my talk:

"An in-depth look into how to obtain the best raw data from your imaging system. This presentation will explore how to use stellar profiles to measure, diagnose and improve imaging performance. Topics include collimation, polar alignment, flexure, periodic error management, advanced auto guiding techniques, focusing, dithering and automation."

I present my presentation in its entirety with video and presentation slides in a coordinated on-line multimedia presentation.

If you have any questions or comments regarding the presentation, please use this forum where I will be happy to answer any questions you may have.

Best regards,

rb

Hello Richard,

Thank you very much for making that presentation available to those who were not able to attend the meeting.

The only point I'd like to comment is the quality of the audio. Yor lecture is very hard to understand, at least for non-native speakers.

On the ohter hand, I enjoyed the wonderfull multimedia system you are using for web publishing.

Regards,

Pedro

Richard,

Thanks for posting this presentation. I was, again, unable to attend the AIC but hope to in the future. I just viewed your briefing and found it very informative. The example of how FWHM kills detail was very understandable. It was interesting to see the affect of the field flatener on the RC curvature. Will that same field flatener work for my SCT? I hope to get the CD from SBIG when it becomes available. Having your words with the briefing material is much more effective. Any chance of putting together a multimedia package for other talks?

Thanks Again,
George

Hi Richard,
You made a great presentation. Showing fact, defining words, made it very clear and understandable.
Multimedia system, with your pedagogic ability made it a powerful learning tool.

Richard

Many, many thanks for sharing this presentation with us...I enjoyed it immensely and learned a great deal.
For some us, getting to an event like AIC2005 is impossible, so this is really well received.

thank you

Martin

Richard, It looks like your presentation is a good one, but even with my broadband connection it downloads in a very herky/jerky fashion so as to be extremely distracting. Is there a way to simply download the whole presentation so it can be locally viewed in the quality in which you intended?

BTW... Mine IS a 1971 Mustang BOSS that is no longer a BOSS, but now has a vastly modified 460 ... Extremely fast (according to the airport officials) was speed tesated on thier main runway ....<Smiler
