Doesn't look like anything real time is working, nor the FWHM monitor.
Here is my setup. Maxim 5.05 Vista (32bit) I've uninstalled and reinstalled. I can measure FITS, but the 3D curvature plot seems to hang as well Any ideas? |

Vista has a lot of annoying security features that may cause this behavior. Please make sure to disable UAC (user account control) feature in Windows control panel, then un-install and re-install both, MaxIm DL, and CCDInspector.
If that doesn't help, the next step would be to try to enable the built-in Administrator account, and see if running as Administrator resolves the problem. Regards, -Paul |

UAC has been disabled since install of the OS. Running both maxim and ccdi as admin doesn't resolve. When I try to close maxim with ccdi running, maxim thinks that there is a program accessing maxim, so it's talking for sure.
Pempro and ccdautopilot work without any issue. any other ideas? |

I just downloaded ccdi to an xp computer, which is also running maxim, 5.02 I think , same issue there, fwhm monitor just says waiting for image and no data.
This is using the camera simulator in maxim. |

ok, in both cases, the real time image viewer looks like it gets an image, it changes from waiting for image to the dimensions of what would be the image that I just took, but its blank (dark).

Try taking an image with a real camera. Camera simulators are often not implementing 100% of the functionality of a real camera driver.
What camera are you using? If you capture an image in MaxIm using the camera, and save as FITS, does it measure properly in CCDI? Regards, -Paul |

I'm using a canon 50D. I've tried with the real camera, as well. Yes, I can get the fits images to load and measure if I do it manually.
I'll try again tonight and see what my results are. |

That is strange.
I just tried Maxim v5.05 on both, XP and Vista32 machines, and even the camera simulator works fine with the real-time monitor. Can you please try to upgrade to MaxIm v5.05, and make sure you are using the latest version of CCDInspector v2.1.6. And just to make certain, can you please click on the icon at the top left corner of the FWHM monitor window, and then select FWHM Monitor Settings... menu. Check that MaxIm DL is selected as the camera driver, and select it if it's not, then click OK. Regards, -Paul |

Hi Bill,
I'll see what I can do to change this behavior in the installer. Regards, -Paul |
