Orbiting around Earth |
Obtain the latest preview release of version 1.6.0.0:
Full Install: http://ccdstack.com/preview/CCDStackSetup.zip Program only (to replace “CCDStack.exe” in “Program Files”): http://ccdstack.com/preview/CCDStack.exe Please let me know of any problems. Significant new features: • Bayer (One Shot Color) Conversion: new De-Bayer method extracts like-colored pixels into half-sized images (1/4 area). The smaller extracted images require less RAM and process faster, so if the presentation image will be down-sized then it can be useful to extract the color pixels instead of interpolating them to a larger size. Extraction does not require pixel interpolation but there is a resample option that sub-pixel shifts 3 of the 4 colored pixels to align with the 4th pixel, as chosen by the user. This option is useful for undersampled images, which might otherwise show color fringing due to the Bayer matrix pixel offsets. The sub-pixel resampling does not preserve noise characteristics. • Bayer (One Shot Color) Conversion: Ability to access green pixels separately. The Bayer matrix includes 2 green pixels, one on each row. There is now an option to interpolate or extract a green frame created from only the top or bottom green pixel. This feature may be useful for interline cameras with unbalanced readouts. • Color Adjust: new button to apply the displayed adjustments (including “set background”) to all included color images. |

Hi Stan,
There is an earlier thread about a bloom removal problem and I note that your reply was that the issue would be resolved/improved on a later release? Is this now complete? Oh - by the way, the link to V1.6 isn't working, well, for me at any rate! Still a first class product! Kindest regards, Barry Morton |

A small change was made to extend the rejected area 2 pixel below the threshold. Let me know if it is OK. try again. There was a widespread internet outage in SF/SJ area all day today. Stan |

Poor Seeing |
Thanks Stan, the new bloom rejection now rejects all the way to the bottom of the spike. This is a big help. The bloom removal is almost perfect. Thanks.
Although it is a much smaller problem, it might be useful to extend the spike by a pixel at the top of the spike too. Does anyone else find the occational spot left above the spike? Fantastic product John Murphy |

I haven't tried the bloom removal since the release of V1.6.
Beforehand however, I was sometimes left with a spot above a spike John. Barry. |

OK, I'll add another pixel rejection on the top.

New version 1.6.0.3:
Fixed a newly introduced bug (version 1.6) whereby Color “set background” immediately followed by “White balance” malfunctioned. Also fixed a layout problem in the Adjust Color form. And fine-tuned the DDP auto-scaling, which in the recent 1.6 was too aggressive for most color images. Version 1.6.0.4:
Fixed version 1.6 bug where Color “set background” de-saturation option could produce weird results (depending on color ratios). Also the de-saturation was unintentionally permanent but is now only applied after user OKs the set background. De-Bayered images are now more reasonably auto-scaled.
