I image using Nebulosity2, and typically take out bad pixels via bad pixel map, debayer, align and stack, and then move the image into CS4 for final processing.

I do not take dark frames as that does not seem necessary with my SXVF H9C for short exposures, and I have not fussed with flats and have kept my glass clean...small motes are taken out with CS4

My question is, I would like to use Neb2 to remove bad pixels using Bad Pixel Maps and debayer, but then move the images into CCDstack for further work before finishing in CS4...any problems in doing this? Will CCDStack accept the FITS files so processed?

Thanks,
Don

Hi Don,

If you flat field prior to import then there should be no problems. But if you flat field in CCDStack you need to know the bias offset (pedestal) of both the light and flat images and put those values in the Calibration form.

I'm curious why you prefer Nebulosity for pre-processing? (reply privately to stan_ccd at yahoo dot com).
