Good Seeing |
Hi Richard...I sent you a private email on this matter, but I will post my observations here also.
I created a table from V3 of the calculator for all camera/scope/bin combinations appropriate to my set up. This showed all of the Min/Max moves which I used as a start point. I used your v4.01 last night to check the values, and I now see that the Min/Max moves have now almost doubled from that given by V3, and also, the Min Move value does not change at all when you adjust the autoguider image scale i.e go from a unbinned image scale to binning the guider 2x2, whereas it did in V3. Could you offer a reason as to why the calculator has changed so much? thanks Martin |

There was a rather large exchange regarding my calculator on the CCDNewAstro Yahoo Group which revealed that there was an error in my calculations.
The error was corrected and proven to be much more accurate than before. You will now find that image scale does not affect min/max values, only the pixel values. The new (accurate) min/max values will imporve guiding even more! Best, rb |

Good Seeing |
Okay, tks, I will give the new figures a try...as I am still unable to guide my Paramount either directly through the RCOS, or through the short FL refractor.
This is no longer fun for me. cheers Martin |
