Hi John
Noting your experience and knowledge of the Paramount ME, could I just get an opinion? I would like to rotate the Versa Plate to mount 2 scopes side by side. One would be a 12.5" RC with STL11K camera package, the other would be a Tak FSQ106 and STL11K camera package and on top of that would be a BORG 76ED refractor and very light guide camera. Without too much difficulty, I can see that there will be a significant balance problem, but I am also fairly sure that the scopes will not fit because of the width of the RC. However, despite this, I thought I would post here to see if you or anyone has actually achieved this (or similar), or to the contrary, that it would cause major issues with the mount. thanks Martin |

It is possible but I would adjust the mountings so that the horizontal balance moments are similar. In other words, the distance from the RC to the center should be reduced (or the distance from teh FSQ to the center should be increased) by the ratio of their masses.
On the other hand, as many have done, myself included, simply put the FSQ on top of the RC, using the top dovetail plate. John CCDAutoPilot author |

Hi John and many thanks...of course, I have just realised that the first problem I have to overcome if I pursue this is how I attach the RC with its dovetail to the Versa Plate which is now rotated 90 degrees....I didnt think of that, and its a bit of a show stopper I guess.
Cheers Martin |
