Good Seeing |
Hi all
Spent a good 4 or so hours tonight gathering a very large model. Automapper generated 569 points, 494 were mapped, there were 58 errors and the mapping run just stopped at point 556, no errors were given. However, I have never seen a resultant model like this one, and in fact, I think it is completely ruined and corrupt. Grateful if someone could take a look and offer any potential reason how this occurred. thanks for looking.. Martin PMEandFS128_12Apr.zip (17 KB, 50 downloads) |

Martin,
A cursory look indicates many bad plate solves, giving many outliers on your scatter plot. I would suspect that either North Angle filtering was off and/or improperly functioning or you were getting too few stars in your solution. Make sure you are using the latest version of AutoMapper and CCDSoft - there was a period where they were out of sync but are now with the lastest version. Also, make sure North Angle filtering is enabled. John CCDAutoPilot author |

Hi John
tks for your input. I am using CCDSOFT v.5.00.174 and Automapper II v2.2.0. I do recall having to upgrade Automapper because of the north angle changes made in CCDSOFT. Yes, I am getting a lot of errors at this FOV...with the RCOS/ST10, I might have got 2 or 3 errors in a 300 point model. I do notice a good number of north angle errors...would you mind telling me where I enable North Angle filtering? and you would have noticed in the TPOINT file I posted, there are a number of points with huge angular separation values....those are the first ones I mask. tks Martin |
