Poor Seeing |
This might be a stupid question, but I am unsure about T-Point. I have only had T-Point for 2 weeks and have it hooked up to a Meade 16 inch LX 200 on a new Paramount ME mount. I have figured out how to do a run of 25 stars and how to map them, and how to change the alt-azimuth settings. I then make the changes, but when I come out the following night, do I have to find another 10 to 20 stars with T-Point all over again, or does the Paramount ME remember the run from the night before. From what I read it seems like it doesn't. Also, how then do you ever map 300 stars, if the Paramount doesn't remember from night to night. Thanks, Bob.

I do not have a Paramount ME, but I'll trade
On my G-11 mount using TheSky6, T-Point controls the pointing of the mount when I slew from within TheSky. It's not done from within the mount. Perhaps the Paramount is different?!? The program requires a short mapping run after powering down my mount to reestablish the model. However I usually find that it's still close enough even without the short mapping run since my mount and scope are permanently mounted in a sky shed. I'm not sure if this helps. But I did not see a reply from anyone else. |
