Poor Seeing |
Hi!
I was wondering if I would push the enveloppe a bit much if I tried ccd imaging at 2800 mm focal length using a Losmandy Titan mount with pec on? That represents, in my case, 0.65 arcsec pixels. DO DO |

Guiding at that focal length is very possible. I've done it with a Titan at over 3000mm FL. This will also depend on the weight/shape of your OTA -- a large Newtonian will be harder to handle than a shorter RC or an SCT.
If you want to take long exposures without guiding at that focal length, that will be a lot more difficult, if not impossible. I've gone as long as 5 minutes at 1000mm FL with a Titan and PEC, but couldn't go any longer. Regards, -Paul This message has been edited. Last edited by: Paul Kanevsky, |
