Hi all....posted this question in the CCDSOFT forum twice but no response...thought I might try here as a lot of us use CCDSOFT together with CCDAUTOPILOT.
What I am trying to do is configure CCDSOFT to use the Focusmax Focusser Hub. When I am presented with the ASCOM chooser, I try to select RCOS TCC, and that is when CCDSOFT reports "Unable to create object - Object Required". Yes, I have copied the focusapi.dll as per the ASCOM instructions, and yes I have checked the server settings in CCDSOFT, but still I get this error. It works perfectly well from within MAXIM DL, but not CCDSOFT...and of course, I need to use it more in CCDSOFT! Any pointers appreciated. martin |

Most folks use FocusMax to directly control the RCOS TCC, which works flawlessly when selected in FocusMax via the System tab. There is no need to connect to CCDSoft. Always start CCDSoft and RCOS TCC First and then start FocusMax.
If you have specific ASCOM hub questions, your best bet is one of the two ASCOM groups: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ASCOM-Talk/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ASCOM-users/ John CCDAutoPilot author |

Hi John and thanks for that.
I am not enjoying much success with Focusmax (like everything else!), and @focus within CCDSOFT on its own does not use the small step size of the TCC...so its pretty useless when it is adjusting focus using the large step size (60 counts) which I think is twice the CFZ! So I was trying to get Focusmax to control the TCC but use @focus...this way, the small and large step sizes would be used. martin |
